Hi. My name is Nick Davies and I'm a wedding photographer based in East Sussex and the surrounding area. I'm married with two young boys and a ginormous labrador who take up any time I have when I'm not working. I capture natural and relaxed photographs, telling the story of your day as it unfolds. I'm not a fan of having my photo taken (hence the holiday snap taken by my 9 year old son instead of a formal headshot!) and so, if that's you, I completely understand and I appreciate how uncomfortable it can feel in front of a camera. I don't want you to feel like you are being overly posed and coerced into unnatural moments - but I will help guide you and make you feel at ease, whilst the camera is around so that I catch the real you. Your wedding day, your enjoyment, your friends and your family are the number one priorities and I will fit in around you. Every one of my Clients tell me that they either don't even notice that I'm there or that I'm more like a guest at the wedding than a supplier.
My wife, Ria, is the second part to NDavies Photography. I am the photographer who will be with you on the wedding day and Ria is my secretary (and the backbone to NDavies Photography) ensuring I'm where I'm meant to be when I'm meant to be! Ria manages my diary and emails and keeps me on track so sometimes it might be her that you communicate with. Post production Ria will help with the filtering of the thousands of images I take on the day and prepare them ready for me to edit in high resolution to present to you in your online gallery. Ria is also the skill behind my photo books and will design these for you. Occasionally she may be my photography assistant on a wedding with large numbers - however she is not a second shooter. She is great with children and also has a good eye (and loves a good wedding!).
Please feel free to send me an enquiry and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Whether your wedding is a grand affair or small and intimate, it is your special day. At NDavies Photography we think it's not just about the big moments of your day - the small moments are just as important. They’re the bits that you may have missed when you’re too busy talking to your guests. They’re the little details that you’ve spent months planning. And I want to capture them for you.
I include an optional pre-wedding/engagement shoot in East Sussex with every wedding I book which gives you a chance to meet and work with me before the big day. Your comfort and enjoyment of the day are of the utmost importance and this will show through in your images.
I only take bookings for around 20 weddings a year - this is to enable me to dedicate my time to you from start to finish. Your wedding is one of the biggest and most important days of your life and I want you to know that I feel the same way. You will receive 100% of my attention to every detail.
For me, nothing beats the images you capture on a natural wilderness shoot. These are the shots when you and your family are at your best. They are relaxed and candid. Whether it's an exploration through the autumn leaves or soaking up some springtime sun in the bluebell wood there is something to suit your needs.
From fitness to beauty, office to factory, NDavies Photography likes to offer a more modern and relaxed take to your corporate photography needs. Whether you're holding an open day for a new business, looking for headshots of your team or advertising images, I can assist.
We had researched photographers for a long time. Nick met with us prior to booking to show us portfolios, answer our many questions and just generally put our mind at ease. Neither of us are particularly comfortable in front of the camera but Nick allowed us to both feel very relaxed. He prompted us when needed for our individual couple photos, as requested, but otherwise quite often we forgot he was there, and it's these moments he's caught on camera that are so special. We spent the whole day smiling and the photos reflect the day's joy. It was important to us to work with someone who had been at our venue - The Pilgrims Rest - before as it is quite a dark venue and lighting could be an issue. Every single photo (of the hundreds we have) is stunning and the Autumnal colours really pop. Our evening ones of our first dance and the party afterwards are brilliant, too. Exactly what we wanted and the perfect mix of detailed shots, natural photos and more traditional poses that we'd asked for. Not only is NDavies one of the most affordable but simply the best. We both highly recommend.
Nick was amazing from the moment we contacted him, throughout the whole process, and I can't thank him enough. He put me at ease from the moment he arrived, he was on hand to help if needed, and really engaged with my 2yo niece in the get ready room. When we got our photos back, it's like reliving the day, he really captured everything. Many guests were telling me how lovely he was. It was like having a friend with us at the wedding day, which made it more natural I believe. Don't hesitate to book, I highly recommend Nick, thank you for making our wedding day and our memories perfect.
Nick is an incredibly talented photographer! From the moment we booked with Nick we were reassured by his professionalism and organisation. Despite being typically camera shy, Nick made me and my husband feel so at ease on our wedding day and took so many beautiful shots! We appreciated Nick's hard work and effort on our wedding day, especially since it was the hottest day of the year! We would absolutely recommend Nick to anyone looking for an amazing photographer!
